Well, Happy Friday my lovelies.  Another week is pretty close to being in the books.  Fall is upon us and depending where you are, crisp cold weather, changing leaves and the promise of pumpkin pie and presents is getting everyone in that "end-of-the-year" spirit.  It's times like this that I miss being in my home state of West Virginia.  There was just something about walking out onto my back porch, looking up at the clear, blue sky and inhaling deep the smell of fresh mountain air.

Despite the wonderful and inspiring landscapes of nature, I'm going to go with another musical selection for this week's blog post.  In case you haven't figured it out, I'm a writer as well.  Or at least I try to be.  And I'm always on the lookout for things that make me feel a certain emotion.  This week, I was listening to the radio and a commercial came on advertising for a new television show (Chicago Fire, I think).  The soundtrack for the commercial was the song "Run" by Snow Patrol.  Now I love that song, and I heard it a million times but this time, something in it triggered a scene in my head for my current WIP.  So, to set the scene for you...

What if you had to say good-bye to someone that you loved?  Not because you wanted to (do we ever?) but because it was life or death and you had to.  But what if you hadn't told them that you loved them.  That they were your world.  What if it was all over before it ever could really, truly begin?  I imagine tears falling, foreheads touching, and a chaste but loving kiss on the lips before walking away.  *shivers and sniffles a little*

Whether you create art, write, sing, dance or just live your life, inspiration is all around in forms both big and small.  So tell me, what inspires you?
